Over the past couple of years I have become involved with “The Virginia Heritage Music Trail” otherwise known as “The Crooked Road”. This project features the music and musicians from Southwest Virginia.

This is a fantastic cookbook that highlights recipes from all 10 counties along The Crooked Road. It includes folklore, recipes, and home remedies compiled by Betty Skeens and Libby Bondurant. The Roots Music Association membership has nominated Lonesome River Band in the Bluegrass Artist of the Year category for the 2008 Roots Music Association Awards. The awards ceremony will take place during our upcoming Conference and Music Festival taking place in San Marcos, Texas on November 14 thru 16, 2008. You can see more info  @ www.thewumf.com
