   About the silk demise

[ . . . . . ]

...Hailing from Toronto, Canda [the] silk.demise offer up sensual, stripped-down trip-hop on their self-titled debut. Combining the talents of songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Bill Litshauer and lyricist/vocalist Olivia Zielinski, the band's sound falls somewhere between…say…Massive Attack and the moody trip-hop found on Akira Yamaoka's soundtracks to the later Silent Hill games.

Blending sultry female vocals, occasional half-whispered male vocals a la Tricky, and music that emphasizes atmospheric sound with sometimes sparser melodic work, the work is a blend of dark, electronic-yet-organic trip-hop with a slightly experimental slant...

[ . . . . . ]

Instrumental work, production, and some lyrics and vocals are done by Bill, while Olivia offers her angelic voice, enticing lyrics, and creative editing.

Special collaborations with Edie Marshall of The Sleeper's Opera (formerly of Beauty's Confusion fame) provide the tracks "Heroin Chic", "Sioux", "Being" and "Invalidate". The sophomore album is in production with Edie Marshall again on vocals, and several instrumental tracks.

Hello from Japan!! just stop to say our information. next our "Bigfish live show" is scheduled on 7th December at Kichijoji MANDA-LA2, Tokyo. Three Japanese Female peaceful singers; Hana Saito, NAORYU and Rika Shinohara play there. it seems folky heart-warm and acoustic. thanks for checking our live information.

Hecklers and supporters of The Scene unite!

In case you feel like a night out for malty beverages and/or fruity umbrella drinks (to each their own)... and of course some Rock and Roll, we're playing the Mod Club on Saturday the 20th (Depending if you're in the GTA that night or not)

If you think you might be able to make it send me a message and I'll put you on the guest list. We've been told that it's unlimited, so send me any other names you might want on as well.

Hey the silk demise....Whats good....Did you see CNN's recent "investigative report" asked the question "Is Hip-Hop an art or a poison"......This segment was among the most baised and ignorant "report" I have ever seen toward this ARTFORM called Hip-Hop........As if Crime didn't exist untill Hip-Hop music came around.........this is hilarious....but yet 55 percent of viewers decided that Hip-Hop was in-fact a POISON.....We have an excerpt of the debate on our on-line TV Station....Check out the segement for yourself.....Feel Free to comment and join in on this on-going debate.....Peace!!

Watch the segment today!!!

the silk demise....Whats up, How r you?.....Just stopping by to share this great quote about James Brown with you......."James Brown is an American original. A king of soul and rock 'n' roll, Brown is one of the most influential musical artists of the last fifty years, and perhaps the most sampled artist in hip hop history. We are saddened by his death, but take comfort in his amazing, relentless legacy."
